Catalyst Cardinals End Missoula Impact Cinderella Run in V Tool Colorado Summer Invitational

Denver - Cameron Emmons threw a two-hitter and the college commit-loaded Catalyst Cardinals defeated the Missoula Impact Baseball Club, 13-1 in the semifinals of the V Tool Colorado Summer Invitational on Sunday, June 16, at All-Star Park in Lakewood, Colorado.

Emmons, an Augustana University commit, mixed his high 80’s fastball with sharp breaking stuff to handcuff Impact. The Cardinals, starting mostly Class of 2024 players, are clearly one of Denver’s elite club teams.

Kody Evans ripped a screaming line drive single to left field, stole two bases, and scored Impact’s only run. Joey Supola chipped in a single of Emmons for the other hit.

The Cardinals jumped ahead in the bottom of the first with two runs but Landin Ramsay pitched out a jam to keep it 2-0.

Evans led off the second with a single, stole second and third, and scored on a throwing error to cut the gap to 2-1. However, Emmons sailed from that point and Catalyst exploded for six runs in the bottom of the second, capped by triples by Julian Duran and Jacob Mraz.

Dillon Gunlock showed some potential on the hill, pitching a hitless two-thirds if an inning in a relief role at the end.
